New Delhi: On Tuesday evening, the road was blocked by the Kanwariyas in the Seelampur area of East Delhi. On receiving the news of the jam, senior officers of the police administration also reached the spot. The Kanwariyas allege that someone had thrown a piece of meat near the camp, which made them angry. District Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjay Kumar Sain rushed to the spot after receiving such a piece of information.
However, there is no confirmation that the piece of meat was thrown away or whether it was something else. There was a very long jam on this road due to the jam of the Kanwariyas. Buses and other vehicles were parked on the road. There was a queue of cars. Police officials reached the spot and requested the Kanwariyas to vacate the road and not to jam it. Whoever has tried to vitiate the atmosphere, the police will deal with them strictly. After the Deputy Commissioner of Police persuaded, the miscreants sitting on the road retreated from there and the police teams were trying to open the jam.
Every year, a camp is set up at Seelampur Tea Point. The police administration is always on alert about this camp. Seelampur has an abundance of the Muslim population, so the police take special precautions here. Every time, on some day or the other, rumours of the atmosphere here being so bad are also blown away. By the way, a camp is also organized on behalf of the former MLA Chaudhary Mateen Ahmed here in which the Kanwariyas are also welcomed. This camp set an example of communal harmony. At each camp set up on this route, there is a 24-hour presence of a police team so that no untoward incident takes place. Even the top police officers are always on alert here.
