Economic Package: Finance Minister says 'credited money to the account of more than 30 crore people'

New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is announcing the fifth and final installment of the Rs 20 lakh crore economic package. During this, he said that PM Modi had said that there is a need to convert disaster into opportunity. Accordingly, this economic package has been prepared. He said that in this package there is a focus on land, labor, law, liquidity.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that cash has been transferred through DBT using technology under PM Garib Kalyan Yojana. Under this, 2-2 thousand rupees have been added to the account of 8.19 crore farmers. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that along with this, 00-500 rupees were sent through direct benefit transfer to 20 crore Jan-Dhan accounts of the country. Under the Ujjwala scheme, 6.81 crore LPG holders were given free cylinders, 2.20 crore construction workers were given money directly in their bank accounts.

Nirmala Sitharaman said that the central government is spending 85 percent of the expenses to reach the workers to their home states. The laborers are being given food in trains. Sitharaman said that 15 thousand crore rupees have been given to the Health Department for the fight with the corona virus. 550 crores has been provided for testing and lab kits. Health insurance worth Rs 50 lakh has been announced for the health workers fighting in the fight against Corona.
