CHANDIGARH: As the AAP government unveiled its maiden budget for FY23 in the State Assembly in Chandigarh on Monday, Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that financial provisions had been made to provide 300 units of free energy to homes beginning on July 1. Harpal Singh Cheema, who presented the Bhagwant Mann government's first budget since the AAP took office in March of this year, stated that beginning on July 1st, 300 units of free electricity per month would be provided to every household in the State. The finance minister added that the AAP government would set up a good governance paradigm. "Corruption is not tolerated by our government. The anti-corruption movement gave birth to our party "He said, noting that the government was taking action against individuals who engaged in corrupt behaviour. The Finance Minister stated that the Janta budget, often known as the "people's budget," will put a strong emphasis on a number of issues, including health and education. This was done after receiving 20,384 proposals via email and the government portal. He also said: "In the first year, we'll concentrate on three things. To improve the state of the economy's finances, adhere to the promises of good governance by assuring the efficient use of public funds, and prioritise health and education ".
