The Mercedes-Benz EQS 580, the country's first premium electric vehicle, went on sale today for INR 1.55 crore (ex-showroom). Days after the AMG version of the EQS 53 was introduced in the nation, the German automotive giant unveiled the third electric vehicle (EV) in its lineup. The EQS 580 was locally assembled, a first for Mercedes outside of Germany, and this allowed for extremely low pricing, even lower than those of the S Class luxury car. For the EQS 580, Mercedes-Benz has already begun taking reservations at a price of 25 lakh. In India, it will compete with luxury EVs like the Porsche Taycan EV and the Audi e-tron GT. Mercedes-Benz India's Managing Director and CEO, Martin Schwenk, stated, “India is the first country outside Germany to manufacture the EQS 580 4MATIC, and this unique distinction underpins Mercedes-Benz India’s deep customer commitment and long-term vision for developing the luxury EV market here." The largest and most noticeable of them is the enormous 56-inch MBUX hyper screen, which just debuted in India when Mercedes introduced the EQS with AMG performance. Essentially, it is a sum of three smaller displays that are utilised for the driver display, the central infotainment system, and the passenger display. Currently, it has the biggest in-car screen in the entire world. The high-end Burmester music system, massaging seats, and ambient lighting are just a few of the additional highlights.
