The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Dehradun, Pauri, Champawat, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar districts. Kedarnath, Pithoragarh, Kirti Nagar etc. have received heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours. Most of the districts of Maharashtra are receiving heavy rainfall. In the Wardha district, the Kutcha Forest Dam broke, after which, water entered 3 villages. Several areas across the state have been flooded due to rain. Many districts of Uttarakhand are also reeling under the grip of rain these days. In Chamoli district, the Badrinath highway has been closed due to landslides at several places. A landslide occurred at Vasai near Mumbai on Wednesday morning. Several people also drowned in the landslide triggered by heavy rains in the Wagral Pada area. NDRF team has so far rescued 2 persons alive, while 3 persons are still said to be trapped. A house was damaged. No one is reported to have suffered losses.
