New Delhi: The 2-day G20 International Financial Architecture Working Group meeting under the presidency of India will be held in Chandigarh, starting from today, January 30. In his remarks at the event today, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar stated that India should be proud of its ability to host events while holding the G20 chair. He added that during its presidency, India would host more than 200 sessions at more than 50 different sites. "We are organising activities throughout the nation while holding the G20 presidency, which is a source of pride and delight. Around 2 lakh representatives will visit India, and more than 200 meetings will be held in more than 50 places across the nation "The Minister of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare said. Tomar thanked all the delegates and said, "India is fully conscious of its duties as G-20 chair. The globe is currently dealing with complicated issues that transcend national boundaries and are highly interrelated. Global solutions are required because the problems are of a global nature. The international community must therefore prioritise unified policies." Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Minister of Food Processing Industries Pashupati Kumar Paras officially opened the gathering. The two-day summit is being attended by about 100 delegates from the G20 nations, invitee nations, and international organisations. Anu P Mathai, an economic advisor at the Department of Economic Affairs, said that during the meeting, participants will discuss ways to improve the stability and cohesion of the global financial architecture and how to make it suitable for addressing the global challenges of the twenty-first century. She added that a key topic of discussion at the summit will be how to give poor and vulnerable nations the most support possible. The Ministry of Finance, the Reserve Bank of India, France, Korea, and the other co-chairs of the International Financial Architecture Working Group will jointly lead the discussions throughout the two-day meeting.
