Indore: A case of smuggling of Ganja through online shopping company Amazon has come to light. Ganja was smuggled from Andhra Pradesh under the guise of curry leaves. Police have arrested three accused based on the information. At the same time, 20 kg Ganja has also been recovered on their trail. In the last four months, the accused have supplied 1,000 kg of Ganja online through Amazon, which is worth Rs 1.10 crore. Ganja was being brought from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and sent from Madhya Pradesh to other places with a 2-2kg consignment. A man named Kallu has been arrested from Govind Dhaba in Chhimka, Bhind and amazon's consignment also came in the name of the Dhaba operator named Pintu. Haridwar resident Mukesh Jaiswal has been taken into custody by the police there.'' SP Manoj Singh said that 67 per cent was recovered by Amazon for each consignment. He said information in this regard has been sought from Amazon and action will also be taken against them if their involvement is found. Kallu told police in interrogation that he had smuggled 1 tonne (1,000 kg) of Ganja in the last 4 months through the Amazon platform. The accused had formed a firm called Babu Tax and registered it as amazon's seller in Visakhapatnam. Amazon India's response to the matter has also surfaced. An Amazon India spokesperson said, "At present, we are investigating whether there is any case of nun-complaints on the part of the seller. We are looking into the matter and will extend necessary and full cooperation to the officers and law enforcement agencies. We do not allow listing and sale of products that have been banned under the law for sale in India.'' Police have summoned a local Amazon official for questioning.
