Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat reviewed the preparedness of the armed forces in key forward bases in Arunachal Pradesh. Rawat arrived in the state on Saturday to take the stock of the security preparedness amid the China-India border standoff in eastern Ladakh. CDS is impressed with the morale of troops deployed on the Line of Actual Control. He interacted with personnel of the Army and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) deployed in the forward most air maintained post along Subansiri valley. The CDS said, "Their morale and motivation ensures confidence that we will defeat any nefarious designs of the adversary." CDS's visit to Arunachal Pradesh coincided with his completion of one year as India's first CDS. Indian Air Force have been maintaining a high state of operational readiness along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China in after the tension on the border.
