New Delhi: The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has imposed Rs. The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) earlier this week set aside a penalty of Rs 1,336.7 crore. The business has decided to move on immediately. According to media reports, the tech giant will appeal against the CCI order in the Supreme Court of India. The next phase of the Google-CCI saga is about to begin. When the NCLAT denied Google's request for a stay, as we anticipated, the company is now preparing to appeal to the Supreme Court. Additionally, this would mark the beginning of the demise of the Android ecosystem as we currently know it. The NCLAT on Wednesday dismissed Google's request for an interim stay against the financial and non-financial penalties imposed by the CCI. The main justification for not granting the stay was that it took two months for Google to approach the tribunal. However, the tribunal agreed to hear Google's appeal. Google has to comply with CCI's directive by January 19. As that date approaches, the company has chosen to appeal the antitrust decision of the competition watchdog to the Supreme Court. Most likely, a special leave petition for temporary stay will be submitted today. Google will try to explain what difficulties Android will face if pause is not allowed. The company claimed that the CCI in its NCLAT filing copied and pasted the decision of the European Commission without considering the supporting documents. It claimed that the commission did not conduct a fair, balanced and legitimate inquiry.
