Chandigarh: The Haryana government is currently not in the favour of restoring Punjab interstate bus service. The Haryana government has imposed a ban on the introduction of bus service in Punjab due to fear of coronavirus infection among states, travellers. In such a situation, bus services in Punjab and Haryana will be limited only within the state. Bus service has started in Himachal Pradesh only within the districts. Haryana had recently decided to start bus services to other states. Under this, Haryana had decided to run interstate buses in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab and Uttarakhand. Transport service was started in Haryana from May 15 in 10 districts. Under this, buses are being run for 29 different routes of the state. In Lockdown 4.0 public transport was allowed to start with certain conditions. A guideline was issued by the Union Home Ministry regarding lockdown 4.0, in which the Center left the decision on the states to restore the interstate bus service. According to the guidelines, states can resume interstate bus service with mutual consent.
