New Delhi: A case of cheating of lakhs in the name of giving the Ranji Trophy in Delhi has come to light. The Crime Branch of Delhi police has arrested two cricket coaches who were duped of lakhs of rupees in the name of giving a chance to the Under 19 and Under 23 Ranji team. The arrested accused have been identified as Ravi Dalal and Harish Jamal. The complaint was filed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) against them to the police. According to Additional CP Crime Branch Rajiv Ranjan, BCCI Integrity Manager Anshuman Upadhyay had filed a complaint on March 3, 2019. Ravi Dalal, coach of the Friends Academy in Pitampura, has taken bribes from several young players in the name of giving them a chance in the Under-19 and Under-23 Ranji Trophy. Chinese company OPPO concludes contract with BCCI The police had registered a case on the 6th of this month on the complaint. The investigation revealed that Rs 11 lakh was taken from a player named Kanishka Gaur. The young man was also given a chance in the two Under-19 matches. It was alleged that the accused had prepared a fake birth certificate for the purpose. It also revealed that a player named Shivam was charging four lakh rupees for the Under-23 sit-in.
