Patna: The corona epidemic has created a huge stir across the country, while corona cases are on the rise in Bihar. The infection was confirmed in 281 more persons on Friday. The total number of corona cases has gone up to 749. According to the State Health Department, Patna (136) and East Champaran (70) districts reported the highest number of cases.
There have been no deaths due to corona disease in the last 72 hours and the death toll is 12,096. The latest case has increased sharply in the last one week, during which the number of active corona cases has increased nine times faster. However, the recovery rate is 98.23 per cent. A total of 20 patients have recovered from corona infection in the last 24 hours. The total number of recoverers has gone up to 7,14,331. There are now 7,27,177 cases in the state. The Health Department said a total of 1,62,459 samples were tested for corona infection in the last 24 hours. The state has so far confirmed a case of the omicron version.
Bihar on Friday found 158 new corona positive. Patna has reported the highest number of cases. 105 new cases have been registered here in a day. On the other hand, nine positives have been found in Munger, six in Jamui, five in Gaya, five each in Jehanabad and Rohtas, three in Nalanda, two each in Buxar and Saran and one each in Araria, Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, Gopalganj, Kishanganj, Lakhisarai, Madhepura, Madhubani, Saharsa, Supaul and Vaishali.
