GST: Highest-ever GST collections cross Rs 1,51,718 cr in October

NEW DELHI: According to official data released on Tuesday, the government received gross GST revenue of Rs. 1,51,718 crore in October, which is the second-highest amount ever after April this year.

For eight months running, the monthly GST receipts have exceeded Rs 1.4 lakh crore. Since the implementation of the GST, the threshold of Rs 1.5 lakh crore has been passed twice, according to government sources. 8.3 crore e-way bills were created in September, which is a huge increase over the 7.7 crore e-way bills generated in August.

CGST was Rs 26,039 crore, SGST Rs 33,396 crore, IGST Rs 81,778 crore (including Rs 37,297 crore collected on import of goods), and cess was Rs 10,505 crore (including Rs 825 crore collected on import of goods), which is the second biggest amount of cess ever collected, according to the data.

According to an official statement, the total GST collected in the month of October 2022 was Rs 1,51,718 crore, the second-highest amount ever. Of this amount, the Central GST was Rs 26,039 crore, the State GST was Rs 33,396 crore, the Integrated GST was Rs 81,778 crore (including Rs 37,297 crore collected on import of goods), and the Cess was Rs 10,505 crore (including Rs 825 crore collected on import of goods).

The GST clean-up has exceeded Rs 1.40 lakh crore for eight consecutive months. 8.3 crore e-way bills were produced in September 2022, a number that was much higher than the 7.7 crore produced in August 2022.
