Ahmedabad: Three persons have been arrested for allegedly flying a drone fitted with a camera near the venue of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally in Bavla village under the Ahmedabad district of Gujarat, police said on Saturday. Elections to the 182-member Gujarat Assembly will be held in two phases on December 1 and 5 and the counting of votes will take place on December 5. According to the report, PM Modi addressed a rally for BJP candidates under the Gujarat Assembly elections. In view of PM Modi's rally, the DM had banned the flight of drones near the rally venue due to security reasons. Police inspector Bharat Patel informed that the police saw some people taking pictures of the crowd using remote-operated drones before the rally. He said the three locals were clicking pictures of the crowd for their personal purpose. We have registered a case against them under section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the IPC. Gujarat has been considered an impenetrable stronghold of the BJP for quite some time. The BJP has been ruling here for nearly three decades, but this time there is a possibility of a triangular contest between the BJP, Congress, and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Gujarat. The AAP has been trying to consolidate its ground in Gujarat for the past few years.
