Amritsar: Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ekta Sidhupur) president Jagjit Singh Dallewal has announced to end the protest for the 9th day on Thursday (November 24). On Thursday, Agriculture Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal of the Bhagwant Mann government of Punjab reached the protest site and announced a consensus on the demands after a marathon meeting, after which Agriculture Minister Dhaliwal ended the protest by giving juice to Dallewal. Later, talking to media persons, Dallewal said that the farmers' protest was going on in six areas of Punjab, which has now been withdrawn.

Dhaliwal further said, "We had a marathon meeting. It is heartening that we have reached a consensus. Another meeting with the farmers' delegation will be held in Chandigarh on December 16.'' On demanding an apology for CM Bhagwant Mann's remarks on the farmers' protest, Dhaliwal said there was some misunderstanding, as the AAP government has stood for farmer welfare from the beginning. However, he also said that, if any word of CM Bhagwant Mann has hurt the sentiments of farmers, then we express regret.
