Ahmedabad: Two people were killed when a 25-year-old water tank collapsed in Bopal area of Ahmedabad district of Gujarat. Five people are said to be seriously injured in the incident. An old water tank near Culture Flat and Tejas Sakul in the Bopal area of Ahmedabad collapsed suddenly on Monday afternoon. Two people were killed when the tank was buried under the debris, while five people were pulled out from under the debris by fire brigade and rescuers. More importantly, a school is located near the place where the accident took place. However, the day of Eid has been averted due to a major tragedy due to school holidays. People across the region are in a state of outrage following the incident. Locals say that applications were made several times to remove the tank from the administration, but there was no hearing. Schools are also nearby, but the school was closed due to the incident, so the children escaped the blaze. Seven fire brigade vehicles are engaged in relief and rescue operations at the site.
