Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has attacked the Shiv Sena and the NCP over the controversy over the Vedanta-Foxconn project going to Gujarat. Fadnavis has said that Gujarat is not Pakistan. He is also our brother and we will be number one again in healthy competition. He also said that the previous MVA government was the culprit for the project to shift to Gujarat. Fadnavis was addressing the Maharashtra State Convention of Laghu Udyog Bharti in Mumbai on Friday. Let us tell you that 1 from Maharashtra. The Rs 54 lakh crore Vedanta-Foxconn project has been transferred to Gujarat, after which the opposition has been continuously attacking the BJP-Shinde faction government. On Friday, Fadnavis, without naming the Shiv Sena and the NCP, blamed the then Maha Vikas Aghadi government. Fadnavis said that due to the lethargy of the previous MVA government, this project has gone to Gujarat. He said "Gujarat is not a Pakistan.'' Fadnavis said- 'This project went to Gujarat before our government came to power. Soon after we took charge, we made all efforts to maintain the project but by then the work of transfer to Gujarat was completed.' However, the previous MVA government did not make any effort in this regard and fingers are being pointed at us. During his (MVA) tenure, Maharashtra lagged behind Gujarat, but in the next two years we will take Maharashtra ahead of Gujarat and it is a healthy competition. Fadnavis further said- 'Gujarat is not Pakistan. This is our brother. We want to take Maharashtra ahead of not only Gujarat but also Karnataka and other states. Maharashtra is number one and cannot stay at number two.' Deputy Chief Minister said – Maharashtra has faced allegations due to the deal going to Gujarat.
