Gujrat: PM announces new Int'l airport for Bharuch

Gujrat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday laid the foundation stone of Ankleshwar Airport in Gujrat's Bharuch district. The Prime Minister is on a 3-day visit to poll-bound Gujarat for the inauguration of several projects in Ahmedabad, Bharuch, Jamnagar, and Mehsana.

In Amod town, Bharuch, Prime Minister Modi dedicated today to the nation and opened several projects totaling more than Rs 8,000 crore. PM Modi spoke during the occasion and said: "I'm pleased to say that Bharuch will soon have an international airport in addition to the growth of the industry. This airport will be crucial in helping Gujarat export more goods."

The Baroda or Surat airport cannot support Bharuch, he said. Now, he asserted, Bharuch needs to have its own airport, and hence, a new airport is currently being constructed near Ankleshwar.

PM Modi laid the foundation stone for the Bulk Drug Park in Jambusar in Bharuch. Bulk pharmaceuticals made up more than 60% of all pharmaceutical imports in 2021–2022. The initiative is anticipated to be crucial in assuring import substitution and promoting India's independence in the area of bulk pharmaceuticals.

The Deep Sea Pipeline Project at Dahej and the Multilevel Industrial Sheds at Ankleshwar and Panolithe were also inaugurated by the prime minister. These projects would aid in the discharge of industrial estates' treated wastewater. He oversaw the groundbreaking for the construction of numerous industrial parks. Agro Food Park at Mudetha (Banaskantha); Sea Food Park at Kakwadi Danti (Valsad); and MSME Park at Khandivav are among the four tribal industrial parks that will be built in Valia (Bharuch), Amirgadh (Banaskantha), Chakaliya (Dahod), and Vanar (Chhota Udaipur) (Mahisagar).

PM Modi will open the Modi Shaikshanik Sankul in Ahmedabad later today. He will then dedicate and lay the foundation stone for projects in Jamnagar at 5:30 p.m.
