On this day Gulzarilal Nanda was born. He was born on 4 July 1898 and today is his birth anniversary. He is the same person who also took charge of the post of Prime Minister for some time in the country's crisis, lived in a simple house for a lifetime. It is said that once he could not pay the rent of his rented house and at that time the owner of the house threw his belongings out. Even in the bank, he had left behind only two thousand four hundred seventy-four rupees. In the year 1921, Gulzarilalji Nanda took part in the non-cooperation movement and in 1932 during the Satyagraha movement and 1942-1944 at the time of the Quit India movement, he surprised everyone. He was also an MLA from the Congress of Mumbai from 1937 to 1939 and MLA from 1947 to 1950. INTUC was established in the year 1947 and its credit goes to Nandaji. He also served as the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission of India in 1950–1951, 1952–1953, and 1960–1963 and he was also the Union Home Minister and Minister of Labor and Employment. In the year 1997, he was given the country's highest honor 'Bharataratna' and the second-best civilian honor 'Padmavibhushan'.
