Health ministry launches training module on emergency life support

NEW DELHI: Bharati Pravin Pawar, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, launched National Emergency Life Support (NELS) training for doctors, nurses, and paramedics on Wednesday. The program's goals include building a NELS course training curriculum and modules for doctors, nurses, and paramedics, as well as developing training infrastructure in all states/UTs to conduct the course. It also aims to develop a cadre of trainers to train doctors, nurses, and paramedics who work in hospital emergency rooms and ambulance services.

"Pre-hospital and hospital-based emergency services are being strengthened in the government sector as part of the National Health Mission. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has long stressed providing residents with inexpensive and high-quality health care.

However, India's accident and emergency services have made inconsistent development. In order to save lives and avoid handicap, emergency care for accident victims is critical "she continued. "So, the goal of this programme is to make emergency care available, affordable, and accessible to everyone. What we want is for no one to die in the country because he or she did not receive sufficient initial treatment in the event of an emergency that necessitates infrastructure, which the government is currently constructing. This is an attempt to train manpower, including doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel. So, they are taught to provide first aid in a variety of situations "AIIMS Trauma Centre Head and Orthopaedic Surgeon Professor Rajesh Malhotra said.
