Heartbreaking Robbery in Amroha: Disabled Groom Duped Out of ₹2.5 Lakh

Lucknow: A disturbing incident of robbery has emerged from Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, where a disabled man, Raju, lost approximately ₹2.5 lakh in his quest for a bride. This sum was borrowed by Raju, who is disabled in one hand, as he faced difficulties in finding a marriage partner. Adding to the distress, the fake in-laws stayed at his house for several days, enjoying his hospitality before fleeing with the jewelry and money.

The incident took place in the village of Mall Wali Dagrauli in the Hasanpur Kotwali area. According to Raju, four days prior, a group of nine people, including a woman, two men, and six children, visited his house, claiming they could arrange his marriage. Overjoyed at the prospect, Raju took them to Rajpura village in Sambhal district to meet the bride. At the bus stand in Rajpura, a girl expressed her interest in Raju. The following day, Raju returned to the bride with jewelry and cash totaling around ₹2.5 lakh. However, just as the bride was supposed to accompany Raju, she and her fake in-laws vanished, taking the valuables and money with them. After an extensive but unsuccessful search for the bride and her accomplices, Raju returned home, dejected.

Raju, who had taken a loan with interest for the wedding, now finds himself in a desperate situation. He has reported the incident to the police, pleading for either the return of his bride or the money. Police station in-charge inspector Sanoj Pratap Singh stated that they would investigate the matter upon receiving a formal complaint.
