Due to this Hima Das will suffer problems in the Olympics.

NEW DELHI: India's star-studded world championships qualifiers have failed to win five gold medals in a month. In the World Championships to be held in Doha in September, Hima is yet to qualify for the 400m. Hima Das's season-best performance in the 400 meters was 52.09 seconds which he won in the Championships held in the Czech Republic and won gold. Though the qualifying mark for the World Championships is 51.80 seconds, Hima is far behind.

Deputy Head Coach Radhakrishna Nair attributed the decline in Hima's Timing to a break in the months of January and February this year. Hima Das had taken a 45-day break from training in February and March to appear for the 12th Board Examination. "She was on a 45-day break and did not train at all. Waist pain was no major problem.

If that were not the case, she would have been at the same level as she was last year. Nair explained that Hima still has some opportunities but he will have to work hard for him. "Hima will be participating in some more competitions now. He has a chance to win the qualifying mark before The September 6. We do not know what is the level of these competitions. Even if she is not able to get the qualifying mark, she will be part of the relay team and has qualified for the World Championships. Hima was highly acclaimed for her powerful performance.
