Hockey Jr.World Cup: Vivek Sagar Prasad named captain of the 18-team squad

Bhubaneswar: Vivek Sagar Prasad, a bronze medalist at the Tokyo Olympics, was named captain of the 18-member Indian team that will defend its title at the FIH Hockey Men's Junior World Cup, which begins November 24 in Bhubaneswar. The competition, which begins on December 5 and ends on December 5, will feature 16 teams from around the world competing for the title, which India last won in Lucknow in 2016.

Vivek Sagar Prasad will captain the 18-member Indian junior men's hockey team, with defender Sanjay, who was a member of the India U-18 team that won silver at the Youth Olympic Games 2018 in Buenos Aires, serving as vice-captain. On Wednesday, the selection trials came to an end.

Shardanand Tiwari, Prashant Chauhan, Sudeep Chirmako, Rahul Kumar Rajbhar, Maninder Singh, Pawan, Vishnukant Singh, Ankit Pal, Uttam Singh, Sunil Jojo, Manjeet, Rabichandra Singh Moirangthem, Abhishek Lakra, Yashdeep Siwach, Gurmukh Singh, and Araijeet Singh Hundal are among the 18 members of the team.
