Home Minister Amit Shah asks Northeast States to resolve boundary disputes via dialogue

Home Minister Amit Shah was in Shillong, Meghalaya on Saturday, where he took part in the 69th plenary session of the Northeast Council (NEC). He has asked the States of Northeast to resolve boundary disputes through dialogue. Speaking to the Chief Ministers of the Northeast States. Home Minister Amit Shah has asked them to adopt means of dialogue to resolve boundary disputes. He further stated that the process of resolving boundary disputes between the Northeast States will be given a priority after the Assembly Elections in Assam.

Elections to the Assam Assembly is likely to be held during April-May. Notably, almost all the North-eastern States have boundary disputes with Assam. Home Minister Amit Shah was in Shillong, Meghalaya on Saturday, where he took part in the 69th plenary session of the Northeast Council (NEC).

In an event, Praising the beauty of the North Eastern Region, he said, “Be it natural beauty or rich cultural heritage, the North East has immense potential to become a big tourism hub of our country. The home minister arrived in Guwahati later in the day on Saturday, where he was welcomed by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. Now, the home minister will hold two public meetings in Assam – one in Kokrajhar and the other in Nalbari On Sunday.
