How Florence Pugh’s Desire for Motherhood Reflects Her Passion for Family Life

Washington:  Florence Pugh, the talented actor known for her roles in films like Lady Macbeth, The Little Drummer Girl, and Fighting with My Family, recently shared her deep-seated wish to become a mother. Speaking candidly, Pugh expressed her love for children and her long-held desire to have a family.

"I've always been thinking about starting a family," Pugh said. "I've wanted to have kids since I was a child myself."

The actress, who hails from a large family, added that she cherishes the idea of having a big family of her own. "I love kids. I love hanging out with them. If there's ever a dinner party, I go straight to the kids to chat with them," she explained.

Pugh finds interacting with children to be more genuine and straightforward compared to adults. "I love the honesty. I love how bored they can get," she said. "I've never stopped knowing that I want to have kids. It's just figuring out when."

In addition to her thoughts on family, Pugh recently spoke about her decision to shave her head for her role in the film We Live in Time. Although director John Crowley suggested using wigs or hairpieces, Pugh was adamant about making the physical transformation for the role. "I just stopped him mid-sentence and said, 'John, no one can play a character like this in a movie like this and not do the thing that is needed to be done,'" she recalled. "And if you don't want to do it, I believe that you shouldn't be doing a story like this."

Pugh first debuted her buzz cut at the 2023 Met Gala, which sparked various rumors online. She addressed one such rumor, clarifying that the decision was not about reclaiming her identity.
