Bhopal: President of Madhya Pradesh Congress unit and former CM Kamal Nath has made a big announcement today on Monday (May 1) on Labor Day, saying that May 01 will be declared a government holiday if the Congress government is formed in the state. Along with this, Kamal Nath has announced that the Congress government will also enact a law for the protection of journalists. In fact, Kamal Nath had arrived today to address a meeting organized on Labor Day at Piplani in Govindpura assembly seat. Addressing laborers and Congress workers here, former CM Kamal Nath said, 'Earlier thousands of laborers used to pass through Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), now only a few thousand laborers are left. Pandit Nehru and Shankardayal Sharma had established BHEL and Indira Gandhi made laws for the workers. But how many laws are followed today? Congress leader Kamal Nath further said, 'Today, on Labor Day, I announce that if the Congress government comes, we will declare May 01 as a government holiday in honor of the workers.' Announcing for journalists also, Kamal Nath said, "Journalists will also be respected. How free are your pen and camera today? Strict law will be brought for the protection of journalists after the Congress government is formed. Let us tell you that today i.e. on May 1, the whole world celebrates International Labor Day.
