Income tax department postponed last date of filing ITR

New Delhi: In view of the global epidemic corona virus, once again the Income Tax Department has given relief to the general public. The Income Tax Department has extended the date of filing income tax returns for the financial year 2019-20. Now taxpayers can file their ITR by 30 November 2020.

In fact, along with this, the last date for filing TDS / TCS statements for the financial year 2019-20 has been extended to 31 July 2020. Along with this, the date of issue of TDS / TCS certificates has also been extended to 15 August 2020. The Income Tax Department has also extended the date of investment and claim deduction by one month for the financial year 2019-20, the new date has been kept on 31 July 2020. The Income Tax Department has informed that now taxpayers will be able to fill ITR easily.

To save tax, the period for investing in Section 80C, 80D, 80E of income tax has been increased from 30 June to 31 July. In such a situation, if you want to invest to get tax exemption, then you can do till 30 July. In view of the problems of the people, the Income Tax Department has also issued a new ITR form. CBDT has changed the return form for the financial year 2019-20 (assessment year 2020-21).
