India to play against Indonesia in Davis Cup final

India will take on 14-time champions Indonesia in the final of the Thomas Cup badminton tournament on Sunday. Defending champions Indonesia has also been unbeaten in this tournament. The Indian Men's team has defeated Malaysia and Denmark in this tournament. Indonesia has been unbeaten this season while India has lost to Chinese Taipei. While Indonesia defeated Japan in the knockout stage, India defeated 5-time former champions Malaysia and 2016 winner Denmark.

For India, Kidambi Srikanth and SS Prannoy have won all their 5 matches. The men's doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have also started performing effectively. India will once again be able to field MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila as the second doubles pair in the final. The pair played two matches in the round-robin format, in which they won one, while in the other, they have suffered a defeat.

At the start of the tournament, world number nine Lakshya Sen, who was troubled by food poisoning, has done well in pieces but has failed to give the team a positive start in the last two matches. On Sunday, Lakshya had to face world number four Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and the Indian would like to take inspiration from his performance in the previous match against the Indonesian player when he has also achieved an easy straight-game win during the German Open in March.
