India wins SAFF U-19 Women's Championship for the second time in a row

Dhaka: The Indian U-19 women's football team won their second consecutive SAFF U19 Women's Championship match on Wednesday, blanking Bhutan 3-0 in Dhaka.

India dominated the first half of the encounter. Sumati Kumari scored the game's first goal in the seventh minute as a result of their hard work and high-pressing. Sumati was positioned at the far post to tap a low cross into the net, which came in from the right by Amisha Baxla.

Bhutan attempted to re-enter the game, but they were never able to put any pressure on the Indian defense. Priyangka Devi served as India's orchestrator in midfield, providing some spectacular set-pieces. Shilky Devi was on the end of a fantastic corner from the left by Priyangka in the 17th minute, but her header flew wide.

India continued to assault and ultimately scored their second goal from a set-piece. India was awarded a free-kick on the edge of the area, and Priyangka Devi swerved a left-footed shot beyond the goalkeeper.
