India's Chandrayaan-3 Achieves Historic Soft Landing on Moon's South Pole

New Delhi: A historic milestone has been achieved by ISRO as Chandrayaan-3 successfully performed a soft landing on the Moon, marking an exceptional moment for India. With this achievement, India has solidified its position as the first nation to achieve a seamless spacecraft landing on the lunar southern surface. The culmination of prayers from 1.4 billion individuals and the relentless dedication of 16,500 ISRO scientists over a span of four years has yielded remarkable results. Notably, this accomplishment not only captures global attention but also signifies India's influence reaching even the celestial bodies.

ISRO has now planted the national tricolor on the lunar surface, signifying India's presence on the Moon. This triumph extends beyond childhood tales of "Chanda Mama," as now the moon holds aspirations and dreams for the nation's future. The moon takes on new significance in the eyes of Indian women during occasions like Karva Chauth, symbolizing not just a celestial body, but a reflection of India's soaring achievements. Chandrayaan-3's soft landing on the Moon's southern surface is a testament to the persistent efforts of 16,500 ISRO scientists over the past four years. India has now secured its place among the select four nations globally that have successfully accomplished soft landings.

In this monumental achievement, the collective prayers of approximately 1.4 billion people have also been answered. It's important to note that until now, only three countries—America, Russia (then the Soviet Union), and China—had managed successful lunar landings. However, their achievements were limited to regions other than the South Pole. India's Chandrayaan-3 has triumphed in performing a soft landing, securing its position as the fourth nation globally to do so. Moreover, India has scripted history by becoming the very first nation to achieve a soft landing on the South Pole, a remarkable feat that underscores India's space prowess and ambitions.
