New Delhi: The National Health Authority (NHA) has announced a groundbreaking achievement, with Aizawl, the capital city of Mizoram, emerging as the pioneer state in India to initiate the operationalization of the microsite project under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).

In a recent development, the NHA introduced a project involving 100 microsites aimed at expediting the adoption of the digital health mission scheme throughout the nation. These microsites correspond to specific geographical regions and are strategically designed to facilitate targeted outreach efforts, focusing on enrolling small and medium-scale private healthcare providers.

"The milestone attained by Mizoram in operationalizing an ABDM microsite in its capital, Aizawl, marks a significant advancement. This initiative mandates the integration of all healthcare facilities, including private clinics, small-scale hospitals, and laboratories within the region, enabling them to provide digital health services to patients," as stated by the NHA in an official release.

The concept of microsites was conceived to provide a robust impetus to healthcare digitization endeavors across India, further elaborated the NHA. These microsites will predominantly be executed under the supervision of the state Mission Directors of ABDM, with financial support and comprehensive guidance furnished by the NHA. A dedicated agency within this program will deploy a grassroots team to engage healthcare providers in the designated area. This team will raise awareness about the myriad benefits of ABDM and facilitate the integration of service providers into the central registries governed by the mission.

Patients will gain the ability to seamlessly link health records generated at these establishments with their Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHAs). Subsequently, they can effortlessly access and share these records using any Personal Health Record (PHR) application that is ABDM-enabled, directly on their mobile devices.

Prior to this, the NHA had overseen pilot microsite initiatives in cities like Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Surat. The insights and lessons derived from these pilot programs have been artfully woven into the overarching framework of the 100 microsites initiative under ABDM.

Apart from Mizoram, several other states, including Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh, have also made commendable headway in the execution of ABDM microsites. Anticipate the launch of more such microsites over the upcoming weeks.
