President Murmu Extends Warm Wishes on Gujarat and Maharashtra Formation Day

New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu conveyed heartfelt greetings to the citizens on the formation day of Gujarat and Maharashtra, expressing optimism for their continued contributions to the nation's progress.

Extending her wishes, President Murmu remarked, "My heartiest greetings to all citizens and especially to our Gujarati brothers and sisters on Gujarat Day. The diligent, talented, and innovative people of Gujarat have brought immense pride to the state and the nation worldwide."

Acknowledging Gujarat's leading role in various development parameters, she expressed confidence in its people's ongoing contributions to the nation's progress. "I am confident that the people of Gujarat will continue to make significant contributions to our country's development. My warmest wishes for their bright future," she stated in a bilingual post in Hindi and Gujarati.

In another message, President Murmu congratulated all citizens, particularly those from Maharashtra, on the state's formation day. She highlighted Maharashtra's rich legacy as the birthplace and workplace of historical figures like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Jyotiba Phule, Savitribai Phule, Tarabai Shinde, and Babasaheb Ambedkar.

"The people of Maharashtra have consistently contributed invaluable efforts to our nation's progress. I hope they will continue to set new benchmarks in our country's development journey. My heartfelt best wishes for the bright future of Maharashtra's people," she expressed in Hindi and Marathi.

Gujarat and Maharashtra were established on May 1, 1960, following the division of the former Bombay state on linguistic grounds.
