NEW DELHI: India has recorded 377 new cases of highly transmissible Covid variant Omicron in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 3007. So far, 1,199 people have recovered from the new strain across the country, according to the report. Maharashtra remained the worst-affected state, with 876 new cases recorded in the last 24 hours. According to data from the Ministry of Health, 381 patients have been discharged. The national capital is still dealing with 465 Omicron cases, 57 of which have been successfully recovered. Karnataka comes in second with 99 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 333. So far, 291 examples of this variation have been discovered in Rajasthan. Kerala, among other states, has registered 50 additional Omicron cases, bringing the overall number of cases to 284. There were 204 and 121 instances in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu, respectively.With 43 new cases, Haryana's Omicron tally has risen to 114, while Telangana's tally has risen to 107. With 60 and 31 cases each, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh are still going strong. Andhra Pradesh continues to have 28 cases, while West Bengal now has 27 illnesses. So far, Goa has reported 14 new Omicron cases, bringing the total number of cases to 19. In Madhya Pradesh (9) and Uttarakhand (10) the number of Omicron cases remained in the single digits (8). However, Assam's Omicron cases have increased to nine from two on Thursday. So far, there have been four Omicron cases in Meghalaya. So far, Chandigarh, J&K, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have each had three cases.
