CM Himanta Sarma directs officials to strictly follow corona guidelines

Guwahati: Corona cases continue to decline across the country, but in many states, there are still ups and downs in infection cases, with many state governments constantly urging them not to be careless in precautions. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday asked deputy commissioners not to relax the vaccination drive, as well as to identify sensitive areas in view of the increasing cases of corona in rural and semi-urban areas.

The number of new cases in the state has gradually declined, meanwhile Sarma reviewed the corona situation with Dc and superintendents of police on Tuesday night, asking them not to relax any rules and ensure strict compliance with the restrictions imposed to prevent the spread of the disease. On the other hand, a large number of infection cases are still being registered in small towns and rural areas, which he said directed the DC to identify sensitive areas on the basis of cases at the block level.

Sarma further said that the DC should then identify areas that are prioritized for vaccination. He further said that in places where more corona cases are being reported, vaccination should be done on priority basis to prevent the spread of infection in villages and tea gardens.
