New Delhi: More than 260 million people have been vaccinated till June 15, according to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Tuesday. On the other hand, government experts are considering reducing the gap between two doses of covishield, at least for people who may be at greater risk. Recently there has been evidence that the delta variant of corona is increasing the risk of being admitted to hospitals and spreading infections rapidly.

In this case, reducing the gap between two doses of corona vaccine covishield can protect people from getting caught by this variant. The Health Ministry said that by 7 p.m. the previous day, 26,17,40,273 people had been given vaccine supplements. This includes more than 100 million health workers who have taken their first dose and more than 60 million who have also received the second dose. More than 160 million frontline workers have received the first dose, while more than 80 million have received the second dose.

In the age group of 45-60 years, 77,240,865 people have been given the first dose and 12,193,878 people have been given the second dose. 63,264,880 people over the age of 60 have been given their first dose, while 20,268,057 have also been given their second dose.
