In India, people do not take stuttering seriously and despite its possible treatment, they continue to suffer from this disorder throughout their ages. According to people suffering from the problem of stammering, they have to face embarrassment due to stuttering since childhood. A large number of people in India suffer daily embarrassment due to stuttering and are unable to fulfil their dreams. If you or someone in your family stutters, there is no need to be embarrassed. There are some special things which can be kept in mind by removing the stutter and embarrassment. Avoid negative emotion: Do not feel embarrassed while stuttering but face it with full confidence. Some people start having negative feelings in their mind due to lack of confidence while speaking, due to which situations like stuttering become more serious. It is quite common for people who have problems to stutter to have such negative feelings in their mind. But by practising with firm confidence you can overcome these negative feelings. Try to speak slowly: If you have a problem with stuttering, do not try to speak fast, because the problem of stammering can become more serious. Slowly and thoughtfully speaking will not only stutter, your mental stress will also be reduced effectively. Whenever you want to say something, think about it once in mind before that. Do not say difficult words: Although it is not easy for a person with a stutter to speak any words if you try to avoid some difficult words, the situation can be improved to a great extent. If you feel that you have difficulty speaking a particular word or you stutter it, then use an alternative word instead. You can practice speaking that word in solitude. You can also make a list of such words so that you can practice speaking those words and do not use it until you learn to speak them. Speech Therapy: Therapists (doctors doing the therapy) will advise you to reduce your speaking speed, as well as they will keep in mind which words you specifically stutter. Help to reduce where your situation worsens even more.
