New Delhi: There was a fierce clash between Delhi Police and wrestlers on Sunday (May 28) in the country's capital Delhi. As the wrestlers marched outside Parliament House to hold a Mahila Samman Panchayat, the Delhi Police tried to stop them as security was put on alert around the Parliament House complex in view of the opening ceremony. Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia were detained by the police after they refused to relent despite repeated requests. After which a picture related to this whole incident started going viral on social media, which Bajrang Punia described as fake, calling it the work of IT cell. In fact, after the wrestlers were detained, a picture went viral on social media, in which Vinesh Phogat and Sangeeta Phogat are seen smiling inside a police van. Bajrang Punia has tweeted this picture as fake. It is written that IT cell people are spreading this false picture. We make it clear that a complaint will be filed against whoever posts this fake picture. Along with this, Bajrang Punia has also posted another picture on his Twitter. Both pictures are the same, but the Phogat sisters are not seen smiling in it. However, after this tweet of Bajrang Punia, people are showing him a video of Vinesh Phogat, in which she is seen laughing. After this, people are asking Punia, is this video also fake? Has it also been edited by the IT cell? At the same time, some users also claim that the picture that is actually smiling is correct, while the second picture in which Vinesh is missing is edited. The wrestlers had been staging a sit-in at Jantar Mantar for the last one-and-a-half months, demanding action against former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. On Sunday (May 28), wrestlers had announced a women's mahapanchayat in front of Parliament House. However, the police did not allow it due to tight security in view of the opening ceremony. Even after this, at around 11:30 pm, the wrestlers marched towards Parliament House by conducting a 'peace march'. The police repeatedly urged the wrestlers to return, yet the wrestlers crossed two barricades and reached near Kerala Bhavan, but the police did not allow them to move further. From here, the police detained many people including Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia. After this, the police also removed the belongings of the protesters from Jantar Mantar and evacuated the protest site.
