CAA Protest: Jamia students clash with policemen, broke barricading

New Delhi: Violent clashes took place outside the university between police and RAF jawans of Delhi-based Jamia University students. During this time, the students went on police barricading and started shouting slogans like go back to the police. In fact, students and locals from outside the university came to participate in the march against CAA, NRC and NPR.

The march was going from Jamia to Sansand, but the police stopped the protesters from moving forward. The police stopped the protesters near the Holy Family Hospital, following which a violent clash of police with the students and protesters took place. DCP South East RP Meena has said that these people had no permission to go to Parliament, so we stopped them. We have both male and female police forces. 6 companies are deployed to control them.

Let us tell you that during this protest march, placards were also seen in support of JNU student Sharajeel Imam who was jailed for treason. Students present in this demonstration said that there should not be a whitch hunt and media trial of Sharjeel. Students say that action should be taken against him only if he is found guilty.
