Srinagar: Army has detained a suspect from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier on Friday, security forces had killed 5 terrorists in an encounter in Pulwama district, while the Army personnel who was injured after initial firing was martyred while undergoing treatment at the hospital. According to a police official, security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Hanjin village of Rajpora area of Pulwama district after receiving information that terrorists were hiding. After that the search operation turned into an encounter. The security forces also gave a befitting reply to the terrorists. Earlier, three Lashkar-e-Taiba militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. Two army personnel were also injured in the firing. According to a police spokesman, based on intelligence inputs about the militants hiding, the police, central reserve police force and army had jointly launched a cordon and search operation in Chimer village of Kulgam district.
