Omar Abdullah's attack on Ravi Shankar Prasad, says, 'Do not guess Supreme Court's decision on 370'

Srinagar: National Conference (NC) Vice-President and former Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah has attacked the tweet on Sunday by Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad for not restoring Article 370 of the Constitution. Omar said that what the Supreme Court judges will pronounce on this matter should not be guessed.

Abdullah wrote in a tweet, "Dear Ravi Shankar Prasad, we do not expect to restore anything from you, but as long as the Supreme Court has independence... Please do not guess what the honourable judges will decide." Significantly, Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad had said on Saturday that special status of former state of Jammu and Kashmir will not be restored under Article 370 of the Constitution.

The Supreme Court is hearing the petitions filed by several mainstream parties of Jammu and Kashmir including the National Conference, challenging the Central Government's decision of August 5, 2019. Under this, the status of the special state of Jammu and Kashmir was abolished and the state was divided into two union territories.
