Chandrapur: The Ballarshah Railway Police in Chandrapur, Maharashtra, nabbed criminals who were fleeing with gold and silver worth crores of rupees. The railway police seized 3.5 kg gold, 27 kg silver and Rs 14 lakh from the possession of the criminals who were nabbed from Bagmati express. After the arrest of the culprits, police said that all of them are residents of Bihar and had committed the theft at a goldsmith's shop in Tripur, Chennai. Thereafter, all these criminals were fleeing in the Bagmati Express. The Chennai police had sent CCTV footage and photographs to the Ballarshah RPF to nab the culprits. Railway police laid a trap and as soon as the train reached Ballarshah station, railway police launched a search operation and searched the bogies of the entire train, due to which one of the criminals was nabbed from coach S-7, another from S-9 and the third from AC-3. While the fourth criminal got off the train as soon as he saw the police and ran away, they caught them there. The four were later arrested and taken to the police station. They had changed clothes to hide their identity and kept the looted items hidden in different seats and coaches in the bag. Inspector M.K. Mishra of Ballarshah RPF and his entire staff cleverly caught the thieves and also seized the goods hidden in different bogies of the train. Further, investigating officer Mahendra Mishra said that the Tamil Nadu police have been informed about the arrest of the culprits. They will be handed over to the Tamil Nadu Police soon.
