Ghaziabad: A woman consumed poison along with her three children on Saturday evening after she could not get her husband treated for TB disease in Loni in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad district. The woman and the only son died on the spot. Two daughters died on Sunday morning due to treatment at GTB Hospital in Delhi. The police have sent the bodies for post-mortem.

Monu lives with his family in Elaichipur village Aman Garden Colony. He works daily wages. Other family members including wife Monica (30), son Ansh (3), two daughters Manali (11) and Sakshi (6) live in the house. Monu and Monika got married 13 years back. According to the police, the financial condition of Monu's house was not good. According to Loni CO Rajnish Kumar Upadhyay, people around told that Monu had got TB about 3 months ago. He was undergoing treatment in a government hospital but his health was not keeping well.

People in the vicinity said that some time ago, Monu's father Ram Singh had also died due to TB. Due to which Monica was upset. Monica wanted to get her husband treated in a big private hospital. During police interrogation, people told that Monica used to be upset when he was not treated in a private hospital. Monu's brother lives in the neighbourhood. On Saturday, Monu went on wages. At around 3.30 pm, Monica consumed poison at home with her three children. After some time, the health of the two daughters started deteriorating. Monica did not say anything when her health deteriorated, due to this, the mother-in-law, who was sick in the house, somehow got up and called her second son. As the health condition of the two daughters Manali and Sakshi deteriorated, the woman's brother-in-law took the two girls to GTB Hospital in Delhi and admitted them.
