BELAGAVI: India Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the National Youth Festival in the twin cities of Hubballi and Dharwad on January 12, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday. The youth festival will signify the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. Around 7,500 representatives from every state will be attending the festival. The CM Bommai on Wednesday held a meeting with officials for the event's smooth conduct. Instructions have been issued to make available proper Lodging and boarding facilities for the delegates and to prepare the platforms, the statement read. "We are grateful to Prime Minister Modi and Union Youth Empowerment Minister Anurag Thakur for giving an opportunity to Karnataka to host this youth festival," the statement quoted Bommai as saying. The meeting was attended by Karnataka ministers Narayanagowda, R. Ashok, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, Byrati Basavaraj and Dr. C.N. Ashwath Narayana, Chief Secretary Vandita Sharma, and others. The CM said that the state government has seriously noted the rise in Covid-19 cases, developments on a global scale, and recommendations made by the Union Health Ministry and that precautions and preventative measures are being implemented. .
