Kashmir Files: Congress opens up in support of fundamentalists, blames BJP for 'genocide' of Pandits

Kochi: After the resounding success of The Kashmir Files, now the Congress party has tried to prove by tweeting in defence of Islamic fundamentalists that whatever happened in Kashmir in 1990 was not behind Islamic fundamentalists but nationalists. Governor Jagmohan associated with the Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the BJP were responsible. In several tweets with the hashtag 'Kashmir Files Vs Truth', Congress has claimed that what they are telling is the truth of the case of Kashmiri Pandits.

In a tweet from the Kerala Congress handle, the massacre of Kashmiri Pandits has been linked to the killing of Muslims. In the first tweet, Congress has written that even though 399 Kashmiri Pandits were killed by terrorists between 1990 and 2007, at the same time, terrorists have also killed 15,000 Muslims. Overnight there were announcements from the mosques of the valley that all Kashmiri Pandits should leave the valley, otherwise they will be killed. On such a painful exodus, the Congress has given an absurd clarification, saying that all this was due to the then Governor Jagmohan associated with the RSS, while the reality is that Jagmohan got the governor's chair on January 19, 1990, and he reached Srinagar on January 21, 1990. Meanwhile, the terror of the fundamentalists had started in the Valley. In another tweet, Congress wrote that after the terror attacks, the BJP did not provide security to the Pandits, but Governor Jagmohan asked Hindus to come and stay in Jammu. In such a situation, the Pandit families who did not feel safe in Kashmir left the Valley. The Congress, through this tweet, ensured that they tell their supporters that what happened to Hindus in Kashmir was done by terrorists. In his tweets, Congress repeatedly tried to show by giving the figures of the killing of Muslims, that all the Kashmiri Muslims who had done the same thing with the Kashmiri Hindus were also tolerated by the Kashmiri Muslims.

Along with a photograph of BJP leader L K Advani's Rath Yatra, the Congress said the BJP was dividing Hindus and Muslims in the country on the Ayodhya Ram temple issue and the Pandits' case was going to benefit the BJP's propaganda in the elections. If we take note of the point of Kashmiri Pandits, according to them, the training of fundamentalists to get them out of the Valley had already started long ago. Long before 1989. But in the next tweet of the Congress, the whole thing was taken a dig at the BJP government, explaining how the V.P. Singh government came in December 1989 and they did not take any action on the exodus of Pandits, only to support V.P. Singh till November of 1990.

In a tweet, Congress wrote, "BJP which sheds crocodile tears for Pandits. Even after forming the government at the Centre twice and once in Jammu and Kashmir, it did not bother to return the Pandits. The Congress in its tweet also complained that the BJP took all the credit for whatever work they did for the Kashmiri Pandits. Congress wrote that the UPA government gave jobs to 15,000 Kashmiris and inducted 6,000 Pandits into the Jammu and Kashmir government.

Praising itself, the Congress said that the UPA government gave 5,242 houses to pandits and gave them rs 5 lakh each, along with scholarships to students worth Rs 1,168 crore, help to farmers and welfare schemes. The Kerala Congress Digital Media Cell is headed by senior party leader and Lok Sabha MP Shashi Tharoor. Through nine tweets made one after the other from this account, the Congress has tried to say that what happened to Kashmiri Hindus in the 90s in Kashmir, the same thing was tolerated by Kashmiri Muslims and the BJP is responsible for the exodus of Pandits, not Islamic fundamentalists. What the Congress meant to say is that the BJP cashed in on the matter for its propaganda, while the Congress party had helped the Pandits with their lives.

While the reality is that Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader Yasin Malik had admitted to killing Kashmiri Pandits on TV. Yasin Malik was invited for talks by Manmohan Singh, who was the Prime Minister in the Congress government. Not only this, Yasin Malik also killed four unarmed soldiers of the Indian Air Force and a judge of Jammu and Kashmir. The Prime Minister of our country, Manmohan Singh, was smiling while holding the hand of the killer who should have had handcuffs in his hands and a noose of hanging around his neck.
