THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala's daily Covid tally has remained constant at around 50,000 cases, with 54,537 turning positive on Friday, putting the daily test positivity rate (TPR) at 47.06 percent, according to Health Minister Veena George, who added that cases will start to decline in the second week of next month. On the same day, 30,225 cases were found to be negative, bringing the overall number of active cases in the state to 3,33,447, with 3.5 percent of those receiving treatment at various hospitals across the state. However, only 13 Covid deaths were recorded, bringing the total number of deaths to 52,786. The daily number of patients in Ernakulam district surpassed 10,000 for the first time since the pandemic began, reaching 10,571. Even though there are more than 50,000 daily instances, George told the media that everything are under control. "The use of hospital beds is decreasing in both state-run and private institutions, which is a good indicator and no cause for concern.
