Koneenica Banerjee, who turned a year younger today, is thankful that she’s safe with her family. “That I am alive and my family is safe is a blessing in itself in these dark times. What else can I want on my birthday,” the actress said. Saying that she’s used to lockdown birthdays now, Konineeca said last year, it fell on the day after cyclone Amphan devastated the city. “I still remember I went to meet my parents to give them some medicines on May 20 and got stuck there because of Amphan. Now there’s news that another cyclone, Yaas, might hit Bengal in the next few days. I really don’t know what is happening,” said the actress. When asked about her plans for the day, she said she’s staying home like everyone else. “There’s no special lunch or dinner, as I’m not in the mood for it. My daughter, Antahkarana, is very happy that it’s her mother’s birthday today. My husband also got a cake yesterday and I cut it at midnight. A few days back it was my dog Boxer’s birthday. I wore the same birthday cap that he wore on his birthday and my daughter was very happy to see that. Last year, I couldn’t meet my husband on my birthday because as I was at my parents’ house because of cyclone Amphan and this year, I can’t meet my parents because of the lockdown. They have, however, sent me flowers and a cake,” Konineeca said. The actress added that she’s feeling blessed, as so many people are wishing her despite having their own battle for survival. “The positive messages are giving me a hope that we shall overcome these trying times soon,” said Koneenica.
