Citizenship Act: Stone pelting at police on Kushinagar, 10 policemen injured

Kushinagar: People of Khiria hamlet adjoining the town of Padrauna came on the road on Thursday afternoon against the Citizenship Amendment Act. People staged a massive protest by shouting slogans in protest. People also threw stones at the police. A total of ten people, including four soldiers, were injured in the incident. Given the seriousness of the situation, DM SP took up the situation on the spot. The police force reached the spot as soon as the protest started.

The police used force to chase down the protesters and took half a dozen people into custody and taken them to Kotwali. After this, people violently blocked the Padrauna-Dudahi road and opposed the administration. SDM Sadar Ramkesh Yadav and CO Sadar Rana Mahendra Pratap Singh reached the protest site along with the Police Force. Started trying to convince people. Violent crowds started shouting slogans against the administration.

Meanwhile, along with supporters, Rajesh Rao alias Bunty Rao also reached there, supporting the agitators, saying that the administration would release the arrested people, only then the protesters would listen to them. After this, the Kotwali police took the detained people to the protest site where the agitators threw stones at the police. In view of this, the top police officers have given instructions for strict action.
