Patna: RJD supremo Lalu Yadav will be present in the RC 63A case of illegal withdrawal of 46 lakh rupees from Bhagalpur-Banka treasury of fodder scam in Patna today. Two other persons, including Lalu Yadav, R K Rana, will appear before the special CBI court. Lalu Yadav will be joining Ranchi through video conferencing (VC) in the court. The production warrant in this regard has reached Ranchi. Lalu Yadav has not been brought to Ranchi from Patna in view of his health condition. According to Ranchi's Hotwar jail superintendent Hamid Akhtar, Lalu is currently undergoing treatment in the paying ward of RIMS. From there, all the preparations to join the video conferencing have been completed. Lalu Prasad, former MP Jagdish Sharma, former MP R K Rana, bureaucrats Beck Julius, Phool Chand Singh and others are involved in the 1996 incident. The CBI has so far produced 76 witnesses and testified. In this fodder scam case, the CBI had filed a charge sheet against a total of 44 criminals, including Lalu Prasad. The trial was called off due to the death of 22 persons. Lalu has challenged the five-year sentence awarded by the CBI court in the same Doranda Treasury incident in the High Court. On Thursday, he filed an appeal petition. Lalu's advocate Devarshi Mandal said that along with the appeal, the bail plea has also been filed. The case will be heard very soon.
