Lathicharge on BJP workers in Kolkata, Vijayvargiya says, 'Movement in state is also a crime?'

Kolkata: Today, Bengal Police lathi-charged the BJP workers who were protesting with the demand to open Majherhat Bridge in West Bengal's capital Kolkata. Kailash Vijayvargiya, the party's national general secretary and state BJP in-charge, who reached the spot, has questioned the role of the state government and the police.

Vijayvargiya has said that agitating in a democratic way in Bengal is also a crime. The BJP had called for a protest today for the delay in opening Majherhat Bridge. The agitation was to start at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, but as soon as the BJP workers reached the movement site. The police took them into custody. The entire area became a battleground for the arrest of BJP workers. Later Kailash Vijayvargiya also reaches the spot. The police boarded them. There was a fierce battle between Vijayvargiya and the police over the arrest.

Although after some time the police allowed him to go, but Vijayvargiya said that the police arrested him. If the police release them, then they are ready to leave, but before that, the BJP workers will have to leave, who have been arrested by the police.
