IPL 2021: 'We didn't play well but...' says MSD after winning match against Kolkata Knight Riders

CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said on Sunday that his IPL did not play very well against KKR but it was still "pleasant" to win. Chennai, who won three matches IN the UAE phase, is close to the playoffs. Ravindra Jadeja hit 22 off 8 balls here on Sunday, as CSK continued their winning streak in IPL with a thrilling two-wicket win over KKR after going through a few odd moments.

Dhoni has said after the match that it has proved to be a resounding victory. 'Sometimes you play good cricket and lose. It's fun when you don't play well but still register a win. Both the teams played good cricket and the spectators also enjoyed it. We bowled well in pieces. It was very difficult for the fast bowlers. We tried to give them small spells. A score of 170 could have been achieved. Even after the way we started, if KKR gets closer to victory, it deserves praise. Man of the Match Ravindra Jadeja, who scored 22 off 8 balls in the final, said it is not easy to perform in the shortest format after playing Test cricket for several weeks. Jadeja continued, 'It is difficult. You are playing 5 days of cricket and then in limited-overs. I was working on my batting.'

Runs scored in the 19th overturned the tide. But Ruturaj (Gaikwad) and Faf gave us a good start. While Moeen Ali scored 32 off 28 balls, it was Jadeja who hit 2 fours and 2 sixes in difficult conditions to help Chennai reach the target by losing 8 wickets, Chennai have come back to the top after this win. Chennai now have 16 points from 10 matches. Though DC also has 16 points from 10 matches, Chennai managed to reach the top again due to a better net run rate. Kolkata are fourth with 8 points from 10 matches after the defeat.
